Questions we're often asked
Can surveys be done at any time of year?
Some can, like preliminary roost assessments. Others, such as bat emergence and newt surveys, only work in set months. Our survey seasons calendar shows when.
What happens if a protected species is found?
It rarely stops a project. We design proportionate mitigation and, where needed, apply for a licence so work can go ahead legally.
How long are survey results valid?
Usually 12 to 18 months, in line with CIEEM guidance. Older results may need updating, depending on the species and the site.
