PROTECTED SPECIES SURVEYS
Ostara Ecological Services provides comprehensive support with regards to surveys, mitigation and licensing for protected species such as badgers, bats, reptiles, great crested newts and water voles.
PRELIMINARY ECOLOGICAL APPRAISALS
Preliminary Ecological Appraisals from Suitable Qualified Ecologists. Forming the initial stages of a planning application, a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal identifies any significant habitats or protected species on a site.
ECOLOGICAL CLERK OF WORKS
An Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) provides a supervisory service on constructions sites where ecological risks are likely to be present. The ECoW can advise on best construction practice with regard to ecological concerns.
ECOLOGICAL APPRAISAL NOTE
An Ecological Appraisal Note (EAN) provides a desk based assessment of the project and identifies potential constraints and opportunities.
BREEAM ASSESSMENTS
BREEAM assessments apply to a range of developments, from offices to schools and private homes, as well as all stages of the building process. Ecology is a specific aspect of the assessment and must be evaluated at the site both prior to and post development.

Utilising the desk based assessment (EAN) and including a site walkover, a site check provides an overview of the projects constraints and opportunities
